Description

The Trefoil was designed as a visual representation of the divine. Between the 12th and 16th centuries, Gothic architecture evolved and brought to perfection its characteristic decoration by means of arcs and circles. Tracery such as the Trefoil is a perfect example of this. It was typically applied to the windows and panels throughout the cathedrals of medieval Europe giving them the unique ethereal look that we have come to associate with Gothic.
