Description

In Egyptian mythology, the Scarab symbolizes the forces that move the sun across the sky. They named this force Khepri, god of the rising sun. Historians believe this is attributed to the fact that beetles roll balls of dirt and dung across the desert floor. In addition, because dung beetles, having been laid as eggs within the dung ball, emerge from it fully formed, Khepri also represented creation, rebirth and the mythical creation of the world.
